WHY Am I Valuable?

But WHY Are You Important?

As vital as it is to let your importance to God take root in your heart, it’s equally imperative for you to understand WHY you’re so important to God. Yes, God is love, and He sacrificed Himself for you. Yes, you are made in the image of God. Yes, God sent His son to save you. But why? What did He save you FOR?

Is checking the box of your salvation the end goal? Or did God go through ALL of this for more? Does God want MORE for you and your life than just your ‘salvation box’ being checked? God left the splendors of heaven because He couldn’t imagine being separated from you, but WHY is YOUR life valuable to God?

I think many of us stay so focused on our own life and our own walk that we never look up and look beyond ourselves. God hand-picked EVERY detail about you for a reason. He wanted you to grow up EXACTLY when and where you did and not earlier or later for a reason. He wanted you to have the parents you had and life experiences you had for a reason. Is it possible that God has been waiting for YOU to realize your value and the calling He placed on your life so that you can reach another?

When Jesus gives the ‘great commission’ in Mark 16:15:

“And he said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature.’”

Did you just assume that Jesus was only talking to the disciples? Maybe you thought He meant preachers or missionaries? Jesus meant you. He called YOU to go into YOUR world and lead others back to Him.

Your valuable because SOMEONE is waiting on YOU to share Jesus with them. God planned from before you were created that your life, your walk, your calling would help lead people that YOU would uniquely interact with back to Him. He planned your life as a way for another seed to be planted in a life for His kingdom. THAT is why keeping you from your calling is so important to the enemy.

The enemy is willing to do WHATEVER it takes to keep you distracted, discouraged, busy or downtrodden; out of your calling and away from the people in your world you’re meant to reach.

John 10:10 reminds us that:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I {Jesus} have come that they may have life and have it to the full.”

It’s the enemy’s job to steal whatever is valuable. That, my friend is you and your calling. He will lie, cheat, steal, kill and destroy whatever he can if it will keep you stuck, trapped and useless. The influence your life could have on another is invaluable in the kingdom. But, there is a catch.

God’s plans will be accomplished with or without your help. Mordecai gives us a great reminder of that in Esther 4:14:

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

I wonder how many blessings we have missed because we haven’t moved beyond our ‘salvation’ check box to seeking a life of purpose?
