If I was going to pick a theme song for my last few years...my reasons for starting a crazy venture with Rooted Leaders instead of staying in “Corporate America”, it would be Micah Tyler's song, "Different".
I find myself hanging out at Discount Tires after taking Chris’s truck this morning, after realizing I need 4 new tires on my car, (a problem for another day) only to have his low tire pressure light go off on the way to drop the kids off at school this morning. As I’m standing in line, I think about my response when the light came on...I think about what I’m teaching my kids when life makes unexpected changes to our plans...and find myself asking God to help me be different.
I want to teach my kids to not just see life through their eyes, but allow God to give them His vision for their life. I want to be someone that when you look at me you no longer see me, but God’s light shining through all of my imperfections. I want to be a woman, a mom, a wife, a friend that isn’t stuck in my comfortable pattern or routine but is willing to walk out into the unknown & walk wherever & up to whomever God sends me. I want to be different; I want to be changed.
